What is the Moves 2025 Plan and what does its renewal include?

The Spanish Government has announced the extension of the Moves III Planaimed at promoting the purchase of electric vehicles and the installation of charging infrastructures. This extension, endowed with 400 millionwill be in force until 31 December 2025 and shall be retroactive from 1 January 2025.  

Key Details of the Renewed Moves III Plan
- Grants for the purchase of electric vehicles: Individuals purchasing an electric car and handing in an old one for scrapping can receive up to 7,000 euros of subsidy. In the case of commercial vehicles, aid may amount to up to 9,000 euros under the same conditions.
- Tax incentives: Extension of the deadline for the deduction of the 15% in Personal Income Tax (IRPF) for the purchase of electric vehicles, providing additional tax relief to buyers.
- Administrative simplificationThe plan introduces improvements in the processing of subsidies, responding to a historical demand from the sector and consumers, which will facilitate and speed up the process of applying for and granting subsidies.
